Beautiful Vermont

Like many Vermonters I am a commuter. I drive myself to work everyday. I do carpool at least once a week and sometimes more with various other folks from my community that head to work in the Burlington area.

Being a commuter is different in every community. There are folks that’s commute involves a lot of sitting in traffic, a lot of waiting. In Vermont we get “traffic jams” I call them that because most of the time they are resolved relatively quickly and either involve only one or two lanes of traffic and might involve a tractor. It’s Vermont. While there are portions of the state that do not fit every stereotype that exists about Vermont, there are quite a few stereotypes that fit.

Among those is that Vermont is beautiful. It’s not just pretty, and it’s not just part of the state that is pretty. It is difficult to drive between two places in Vermont and not have a view that is worthy of pulling the car over and taking a picture. While it is good that we do not all do this every day, we are blessed every day to live in a place that has that kind of beauty.

It is all about to get even more beautiful as we head into fall foliage. The two weeks where every single hotel room in the state is sold out but that you will even find Vermonters pulling their cars over to take a picture of our green mountains lit up in yellow, orange, red and green.

So while I am a commuter, I am a commuter in Vermont and that really makes all the difference.
