Private Lot? Close to town? Sign me up!

We started building in Nature’s Way, which is part of the Pinewood subdivision in Essex earlier this year. I had not been out to site since walls had started going up and I went to visit today. Let me tell you – I picked the right day to visit. A gorgeous sunny spring morning in Vermont is something to be savored, and I had the joy of exploring this home and lot on this fine morning. My favorite spot in this house was the back deck. Now, if I had visited this winter, my favorite spot probably would have been by the gas fireplace, but this morning it was out on that deck. The sun was coming down, there was a light breeze that you could hear going through the trees, and otherwise, there was peace and quiet. It was incredible to me, I had just left 5 corners in Essex, and a few minutes later was out on this back deck with peace and quiet. It was incredible, wonderful, and in that moment I realized that this was a home that I could undoubtedly tell someone I could live in – because I could. The house itself is unassuming – a lot of the living space in this home is in the Lower Level, built beautifully into the lot with a great walk-out into the back yard. What this means is that the front of the house doesn’t give you the feel of a mansion, it gives you the feel of a nice cottage. This is a home that you could raise a family in and grow old in. It has first floor living – a nice master suite, with a laundry room on the first floor and it also has this great lower level with two bedrooms, a family room, another full bathroom and additional storage. There is a private backyard that the family room and deck off the first floor opens up to. At the same time, you have neighbors right down the road. Helpful for the last minute babysitter, or the old fashioned thought of borrowing a cup of sugar (it does happen!).

Okay, I am done gushing. It was just so peaceful on that back deck this morning and I wasn’t even in the middle of nowhere (where I am from). It was the peace of a Sunday morning on a Friday work-day. Really, what more can you ask for?
