Meet the Sterling Homes Team
Ask any Sterling customer about Bart and they will immediately list his many attributes: his attention to detail, creative vision, and warm smile. Bart has been building homes since 1979 and is well known for making the process exciting, enjoyable and fun. He maximizes each lot’s potential, finds ways to make each home special, and is able to bring customers’ ideas to life.
Bart came to Vermont to attend the University of Vermont in 1966 and has never left. He married his college sweetheart Paulette, and they raised their two children in the Green Mountain state. When he’s not creating neighborhoods or designing award winning houses, he’s often on the golf course or wrestling with the grandkids. His smile and upbeat attitude are contagious while his drive to improve and learn transcends his whole life.
He is an active member and past president of the Home Builders Association of Northern Vermont. He has been using environmentally sound development and building practices since before they had names. He was definitely an early adopter. He has also completed the Certified Green Professional course offered by NAHB and works hard to ensure that each house is as sustainable as possible. Bart was the first recipient of the T. Wayne Kondor Builder of the Year Award in 1997, which was awarded by the Home Builders of Northern Vermont. This award honors a valuable Jericho builder who passed away that year. Builder/Architect VT magazine from March 1997 listed the criteria as “a builder member who is involved with various facets of our organization. A builder member who is respected by his peers, and is generous, someone willing to lend an ear or a hand.” Bart embodies these characteristics in his personal and professional life.
